Experience
There are two things in life that I'm passionate about: teaching and math. I'm currently working to become a mathematics teacher, so that I can help a new generation of students develop the same love and appreciation for math that I have. I believe that academic success starts with confidence. Students need to know that they're capable of achieving greatness in order to reach their goals. Unfortunately, many pupils are self-conscious about their math skills and think that they're not good at solving problems. While not everyone may be a natural mathematician, my experiences have taught me that all students have the capacity to succeed in math when they're given proper guidance. For this reason, I like tutoring privately because it gives me the chance to put in the extra time to help students understand some of the more complicated concepts in math. I believe in the student-centered approach to teaching, which is why I work hard to incorporate a wide range of activities and resources into every lesson. That way, students get the opportunity to take a hands-on approach to solving math problems, which helps them learn how to use their skills outside of the classroom. When I'm not tutoring privately, I'm usually working as a substitute teacher in Northern New Jersey.
